There are many fascinating things I learned while researching my family history. One was that my great great grandmother was 100% Iroquois Indian; another was when I was given my great grandfather's original Civil War discharge papers from 1863 and 1865.
However probably the most interesting thing I have learned is that history has a way of repeating itself. For 3 direct generations a grandfather raised a grandson, who raised a grandson, who also raised a grandson.
Ok, so I won't win a Pulitzer Prize, however I found it interesting.
